Choosing an Outdoor Furniture Cover

When buying an outdoor furniture cover, there are many things to consider. Since you have invested hundreds, possibly even thousands of dollars in the furniture for the perfect outdoor living space, why would you then leave that furniture to be destroyed by the weather and elements of nature.
You should put just as much time and thought into protecting that furniture as you did in choosing it. Regardless of the type of furniture you have, it can be adversely affected by exposure to sun, wind, rain, snow, heat, cold, animals, etc. The most durable of furniture if left unprotected, will eventually be damaged if not destroyed by these things.
So, what exactly do you need to look for in an outdoor furniture cover. Frankly, any furniture cover is better than nothing. But, there are several things that differentiate some covers from others. All covers are not created equal and all covers will not perform the same. One may do a better job of protecting your furniture from the sun, but not from rain or snow. Some may protect your furniture great, but be hard to install and remove from your furniture. Some may be extremely easy to install and remove, but not be made very well or be very durable.
So, let’s take a look at these factors that you will need to consider when deciding on the right cover for you.
1) Materials – What is it made of?
2) Fasteners – What type of system does it use to fasten the cover to your furniture?
3) Construction – How is the material put together?
4) Waterproofing – Is the material waterproof?
5) Shape – Is it a generic fit or molded for specific types of furniture?
6) Styles – Do you want something plain and generic or colors that will enhance your patio, deck or garden?
All of these are factors to be considered when you choose an outdoor furniture cover.
